This stalk arrives raw and unstripped, meaning the individual blades are still attached to the central stem. This is the most authentic way to handle palms for traditional palm weaving and large Altar displays.
- Length: Typically range from 40" to 60" in total height.
- Yield: A single stalk can yield anywhere from 25 to 60 individual strips, depending on the fullness of the "book."
- Utility: Best for those who need maximum flexibility. Because they are uncut, you can strip them to the exact width needed for complex braids, traditional "roses," or oversized crosses.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
To keep your palm crosses looking fresh and to preserve them as meaningful keepsakes, proper care is essential. Since they are made from natural organic material, they will eventually dry out and transition from a vibrant green to a soft, sandy tan color. To slow this process, keep the cross in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause premature fading and brittleness. If you wish to keep the palm green for as long as possible, some people lightly mist them with water or keep them in a sealed bag in the refrigerator until they are ready to be displayed. Once dried, the crosses become delicate, so handle them gently to avoid snapping the fronds.
